 Campground Park Attendant and Maintenance

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Reporting to the Park Manager, the Park Attendants and maintenance are responsible for ensuring park visitors have a memorable park experience and that our parks are kept safe and clean! Duties include park and campsite cleaning and maintenance as directed by the Park Manager, maintaining clean washrooms and pit toilets, removing garbage and recycling, landscape cleanup and maintenance and welcoming and providing information to our visitors. May include collecting fees and selling firewood. 

PERSONAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Ability and willingness to perform physical active work for up to 8 hours and be able to lift 50 lbs. safely. 
  • Have practical experience in manual labour such as groundskeeping, gardening, farming or related work. 
  • Aptitude to work with tools, learn new skills and understand product use safety procedures. 
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team displaying professional communication skills. 
  • Be respectful of others, provides mindful customer service and maintains a positive attitude. 
  • Ability to record pertinent information and write incident reports. 
  • Cash procedures and reconciliation. 

EMPLOYMENT AND WAGES: 

  • Seasonal employment contract from May to September 2026. Opportunities for earlier and later employment depending on park operations. 
  • Day shifts – includes weekends and holidays. 
  • Full and part-time work is offered. Full- time work is 35-40 hours per week. 
  • Wages range from $20 – $24 per hour plus 4% vacation pay. 
  • Uniform supplied during employment. 

WORK LOCATIONS: Victoria, Sooke Parksville/Qualicum, Port Alberni and Sunshine Coast. 

  • Parks in Victoria area – Goldstream 
  • Parks in Sooke area – French Beach, Juan de Fuca and China Beach. 
  • Parks in South Gulf Islands – Ruckle Park (Salt Spring Island) and Montague Harbour (Galiano Island) 
  • Parks in Parksville /Qualicum area- Rathtrevor Beach, Englishman River, Little Qualicum, Horne Lake, Descanso Bay (Gabriola Island) and Nanaimo Parks. 
  • Parks in Port Alberni area – Sproat Lake and Stamp River. 
  • Parks on Sunshine Coast – Saltery Bay and Inland Lake. 

TERMS, QUALIFICATIONS AND APPLICATION: 

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License – Drivers Abstract/Record required to operate company vehicles. 
  • Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check upon hiring. Company application available. 
  • Current First Aid Certification (OFA) is an asset. 
  • Provide your own transportation to and from work.
