About the Park
Long renowned for its rainbow trout, Carp Lake Park offers some of the finest fishing in the Central Interior, about two hours north of Prince George.
The park includes Carp Lake, War Lake, several smaller lakes and streams, and the waterway linking Carp and War Lakes—the start of the McLeod River. Sandy beaches line Carp Lake’s north shore, contrasting with the spruce-forested south shore.
Two campgrounds provide 102 maintained sites. The main campground features a picnic shelter, horseshoe pits, and a playground, while the War Lake campground offers access to scenic War Falls. Though family-friendly, the park primarily attracts anglers and boaters who explore its many islands, bays, and secluded marine campsites.
