We are looking for keen and energetic individuals and Host couples to service and maintain a variety of our Okanagan Provincial Parks over the 2024 summer season.
Locations include Bear Creek, Okanagan Lake North & South, Kekuli Bay, Fintry, Mabel Lake, Ellison and possibly other locations.
Positions include:
- Park managers
- Day staff
- Evening staff
- Security
- Gatehouse staff
- Maintenance/Janitorial
- Volunteer Camp Host Couples (live on-site in own RV – we offer the site, power, water and sewer in exchange for 25 – 30 volunteer hours per week – paid positions available on top of volunteer hours)
Duties:
- Guest registrations on foot or through gatehouse
- Fee collection & reservation check-ins
- Security (includes verbal or written visitor violations/warnings)
- Patrols to enforce park rules
- Firewood sales
- Building and ground maintenance including cleaning, maintenance of washrooms, painting and raking campsites
- Collection of garbage/refundable, and opening or closing of park gates
Requirements:
- Must pass a RCMP criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Possibly a Level 1 First Aid Certificate
- Good physical condition
- Positive attitude
- Team player
- Well spoken, effective communicator
- Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Must be able to deliver park policies in a consistent, direct, and non-confrontational way despite the potential for dealing with agitated or intoxicated guests on occasion.
Wage ranging from $19 – $22 hour. Start dates vary from April to July.
